Where have you always wanted to go? Or, think back to a previous time when you travelled somewhere new and exciting. Did you find material on that place and read up on it? When you started packing, was it with excitement because of where you were going? Guess what? We are on our way to heaven, and we should be looking forward to it. We should also be preparing for it. Jesus is returning, and we He does, we shall be with Him.
Colossians 3:1-4
“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”
If you belong to Jesus, you belong to His new Kingdom. Faith believes that the promises of God are true and that living as though the return of Christ is in the next moment. We need to “seek those things which are above” and set our “affection on things above, not on the earth.” When God makes all things new, we will partake in its splendor, but only if we have done our preparations for His coming.
